Install on a phone

Add AbilityMosaic to your home screen.

It then opens like an app, works offline after the first load, and is less likely to lose local notes than a temporary browser tab.

Open the app
Before starting: use the phone and browser where you intend to keep the child's notebook. Data stays in that browser's local storage and does not automatically move to another device.

Android with Chrome

  1. Open app.abilitymosaic.com in Chrome.
  2. Tap the browser menu (three dots).
  3. Choose Install app or Add to Home screen.
  4. Confirm Install. Open AbilityMosaic from its new home-screen icon.

If an Install AbilityMosaic button appears near the top of this page, you can use it instead of the browser menu.

iPhone or iPad with Safari

  1. Open the site in Safari. Other iPhone browsers may not expose the same install control.
  2. Tap the Share button.
  3. Scroll and choose Add to Home Screen.
  4. Keep the name AbilityMosaic and tap Add.

After installing

  • Open it once while online so the offline files can finish saving.
  • Allow camera or microphone access only when you choose to keep a clip or listen.
  • Make a backup regularly. Installing does not create a cloud copy.
  • Do not use private/incognito browsing; those sessions are designed to discard storage.

If the install option is missing

  • Make sure you are using the secure address beginning with https://.
  • On iPhone, use Safari.
  • On Android, reload once and use the Chrome menu.
  • If already installed, the browser may hide the option.

Moving to a new phone

Sign in on the new phone and enter the household recovery key to decrypt synchronized event history. Recordings remain local and still require an exported backup. Keep both the recovery key and regular backups; email sign-in alone cannot decrypt child records.
